View a preview of the Understanding Your Teenager Presentation

Australia's 2 foremost seminars for parents of teens & pre-teens

These two insightful, practical and hilarious seminars have been hosted by schools and community groups across Australia, New Zealand and South Africa since 1993. In that time over 100,000 parents have benefitted from the wisdom, received hope and encouragement and been surprised by the two hours of entertainment they have enjoyed.

Both seminars encourage parents and help them empathise with the enormous pressures which are on young people today. They point ways to simple, and yet profound, procedures that can make life happier and the chances of success in parenting a teenager more real. They are not formal parent training but are rather 'Family Aid' packages wrapped in affirmation and encouragement and filled with practical ideas that work.

Parents will leave the seminars with sore stomachs from laughing, damp eyes from crying, warm hearts from reassurance and heads buzzing with new ideas.

If you are interested in finding out when a seminar is being held near you, or you would like your child's school to host one please call Jadie on 1300 795 030 (International +61 7 5534 5987) or use our online enquiry form.

The seminars are designed to raise awareness and challenge parents to action. Our objectives for them follow

  1. To help parents comprehend why adolescence is different today.

  2. To affirm to parents that their situation is probably quite normal.

  3. To affirm to parents that they have the capacity to influence their teenagers, and maintain relationships with them.

  4. To challenge parents to rethink their approach to all aspects of parenting teens, being prepared to affirm what is working and to change what is not.

  5. To motivate parents to enact processes which will improve relationships, bring them confidence, and bring their children opportunities for growth

What parents say

“More fun and more helpful than any course I’ve ever been to.
I didn’t want to come, but once Graham started there was no way I was going to leave!” Father, SA

Many, many thanks for your excellent seminar. (It) seminar was beneficial to me in three ways:
1) It showed me that in many areas my husband and I are doing the right thing.
2) It encouraged me to keep on persisting.
3) You explained practical ways to put your ideas into practice.
Most books are full of theories, but it's hard to put them into practice. It almost seemed that you know my 3 teenagers personally!  Mother, Victoria

"Being the parent of a 17 , 15 and twelve year old I just wanted to let you know that I found the seminar extremely entertaining. since that evening I have found myself with a new enjoyment for the job I have been happily doing for the past seventeen years.
I just want to say thankyou for visiting our town and enriching our lives I have so many friends that would have benefited by the evening."  Mother, NSW
