Parent help line is operated by either government, community organisations or a partnership of both throughout Australia. It provides confidential telephone counselling and links to helpful resources.

Family Relationships Online

This Australian Federal Government initiative provides all families (whether together or separated) with access to information about family relationship issues, ranging from building better relationships to dispute resolution.

Relationships Australia
Relationships Australia is an organisation that offers resources to couples, individuals and families to help enhance and support relationships.

Focus on the Family
A non-denominational Christian organisation offering resources, information and training in al issues relating to family.

Teen Challenge
For over thirty years this Christian organisation has provided counselling and rehabilitation programs for troubled teenager. It has remarkable success rates.

Family Education
An excellent site with well structured, easily navigable advice and information. Includes a forum for people to exchange problems, solutions and ideas. It is very USA centric. As it is a commercial site there is an annoying amount of advertising.

iVillage
An American site rich in information on a huge range of parenting issues, particularly from a mothering perspective

Parenting Teens
A comprehensive coverage of all things to do with parenting adolescents. Includes forums. American based but relevant to any western country

Drug Free Australia
A brilliant site which gives opinions, information and resources about helping our teens stay drug free.

Drug Aware

A great resource for teenagers and parents that provides realistic and helpful information about illicit drugs, alcohol and  smoking

Parent Drug Information Service
WA government Information and referral source regarding adolescent drug use

Drug-Arm
A non-government group committed to providing extensive, reliable, up-to-date information about illicit drugs and alcohol, treatment and recovery. It also offers access to counselling.

CEIDA
This Australian site is a wonderful reference point about illicit drugs. It has guides to help parents talk to their kids, information about the drugs and a list of contacts for parents and kids who need help

This American site is rich in information about the impact of substance abuse on teens

Reachout

A great resource for teenagers facing issues of stress, depression and related issues. Parents will also find this site useful.

Beyond Blue

National mental health initiative, excellent information, ideas, advice and contact list

Help When You Need It

Help When You Need it ("HWYNI") is a library of 15 CDs providing information on adolescent mental health for teachers, professionals, parents and young people

Health Insite
A Federal Government initiative that is rich with information about every stage of life development. A great source of information and helpful links.

Teenhealth
Excellent USA based site for teenagers that provides unbiased opinions and practical help for teenage issues.

Better Health
A website providing information about a wide range of physical and mental health issues. It is regularly maintained by the Victorian government. The Fact Sheets page is a great resource for information on a wide range of health and behaviour issues with teens.

 

Children Youth & Women's Health Service
South Australian Government. A wealth of information on many of the issues that teens and parents of teens face.

Family Planning Association
The NSW site above provides links to other FPA sites nationally. FPA provides non-judgmental, confidential counselling and information about sexual issues.

Crash Free Driving

The safe, easy and efficient way to teach someone to drive. The tools on this website are particularly useful for parents teaching teenagers to drive. The authors of the material are the consultants who helped devise the current Western Australia driving licence test.
